Quartet Biography
Class Ring invites you to enjoy the smooth sounds of classic
barbershop songs, as well as your favorite hits from the ‘40s, ‘50s,
and ‘60s. You’ll be saying, “Oh Yeah!” when those old familiar tunes
bring back fond memories. So dim the lights, forget your worries
and give your ears a treat!
Registered with the Barbershop Harmony Society for seven years, Class
Ring has improved steadily in the District ranking and is currently the top
runner-up medalist in District competition.
Tenor Keith Shuck is an experienced barbershopper having supplied
the high notes for numerous quartets over the past two decades. Keith
has also sung with The Heart of Ohio, Singing Buckeyes and Alliance
Choruses. In his spare time, he works for Capitol Lighting in Columbus, Ohio.
Lead Lee Hall brings a wide range of musical influences to the barbershop
sound. When he’s on stage, you might hear anything from hints of Mel Torme
to a Blues harmonica. Lee owns an adult group home in Mt. Sterling, Ohio
where the residents never lack for a song.
John Dudrow, the sole quartet member capable of any low notes, was
the perfect fit for Bass. John is the Bass section leader for The Singing
Buckeyes Chorus and also promotes Ohio State athletics with the Buckeye
Blend quartet. He currently works as a computer hardware consultant
while attending school to obtain his degree in Physical Therapy.
Baritone and ‘Alpha Barbershopper’ of the group, Doug Smeltz, is a past
District Champion Quartet member, award-winning director of The Singing
Buckeyes Chorus and the composer/arranger responsible for some of our music.
For thirty five years, Doug inflicted math on adolescents in the Columbus Public
Schools, and now conducts T.I. Technology seminars for Math educators.
